General Risk Assessments

At ECSS Ltd our consultants have the experience to carry out a range of Risk Assessments that are required by Health and Safety Regulations and HSE Codes of Practice.

At EC Safety Solutions Ltd our consultants have the experience to carry out a range of Risk Assessments that are required by Health & Safety Regulations and HSE Codes of Practice. Our risk assessments will be in compliance with regulatory requirements, but will also be easy to use and understand and always based around cost effective safety with an easy to follow management action plan. We can also design company specific risk assessment forms and carry out training to employees in their use. Some examples of the risk assessments we carry out, but not limited to are:

 

Office and Display Screen Equipment (Workstation) Risk Assessment

An analysis of workstations will be carried out to assess the health and safety risks to which people using the workstations are exposed. The assessment will identify control measures that could be implemented to reduce the risk to the lowest extent reasonably practicable. The assessment will assist the client in meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 as amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002. Note: the average compensation claim for RSI/ Workstation injuries runs into thousands of pounds not withstanding all of the time the employee has off of work

 

Specific Risk Assessment

Our hazard specific risk assessments are bespoke to our clients needs. This may be for specific items of plant or machinery or it may be for a particular work process or even for tender purposes.

 

COSHH Risk Assessment 

Is carried out to identify the risks created by work that is liable to expose employees to substances hazardous to health. The assessment will also consider the necessary measures required to achieve statutory compliance. The assessment will assist the client in meeting the requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002.

 

Manual Handling Risk Assessment

An assessment is carried out of manual handling operations that pose a risk of injury to employees. It will consider the task, the individual, the load, the working environment and other issues and identify where further steps can be taken to reduce the risk to the lowest level reasonably practicable. The assessment will assist the client in meeting the requirements of the Manual Handling Operation Regulations 1992 as amended by the Health and Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2002.

 

Asbestos Risk Assessment

An assessment can be carried out to assess the employers compliance with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002. The asbestos risk assessment assessment will identify the actions required to ensure and maintain your compliance. Following on from this we will assist you in preparing your asbestos management plan.

 

Personal Protective Equipment Risk Assessment

An assessment may be carried out to determine whether personal protective equipment is suitable. The assessment will include an assessment of workplace risks, the characteristics the equipment must have and those characteristics of the equipment provided. The assessment will assist the client in meeting the requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at Work Regulations 2002.

 

Noise Risk Assessment

An assessment where required would be carried out to determine the degree of the employers compliance with The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005. The assessment will identify actions required to ensure compliance and a noise survey (noise levels and daily personal exposure to noise) can be arranged.

 

Water Hygiene Risk Assessment

An assessment where required would be carried out to determine the degree of the employers compliance in protecting employees and others against Legionnaires Disease: Utilising the control of legionella bacteria in water systems Approved Code of Practice and guidance (L8), the assessment will identify the actions required to ensure this compliance. A survey can be arranged to assess the risks from legionella and other hazardous micro-organisms, and a report provided with recommendations for a water system management programme.
